Not all crosses are the same weight

Writer: dfaith912dfaith912

Jesus says to pick up our cross and follow him. The cross was where he dies to cleanse the sins of every human being ever to live. So then if we accept him into our hearts we have been given a way into heaven. The cross was brutal for Jesus. He was nailed to it, beaten and mocked. He was deprived of food and water and left to die alone. We all carry a weight around that may feel like a cross sometimes. Maybe it is brokenness from the loss of a child? Or it could be you are stuck in a deep depression or addiction? Perhaps your family is broken. Maybe you or someone you love is very sick and your not sure if it's going to get any better? It could even be your struggling in school you just can't seem to keep up. Maybe your struggling to lose weight? It just seems like no matter how hard you the scale doesn't read to see?

No ones life is perfect. I think of Justin bieber in particular. He seems to have it all he's got the money got the house. He just got married. His career doesn't seem to be over yet. But when you listen to his song Lonely. You really understand what was going on in his "Perfect" life.

We are all sinners on this earth. We all have at least this one thing in common. We were not put on this earth to go through life alone. We are here to build friends and relationships. We are here to be the shoulder to cry on when someone is struggling. I see the division happening in our country and all over the world. Since starting this blog I have hoped and prayed over this opportunity to be successful for myself. But I know more importantly that it is about God saving more than just myself. It is so easy to stay I focused. "How can I cut my hair so that people will notice and comment me?" "Will this outfit make me stand out and be noticed?" "Well if I buy this new car I am going to enjoy driving so much more?" and the list continues.

After stepping back from christmas I can only think about how many people are in need. We all have crosses or baggage that can knock us down. I want to encourage you to search for someone in need, Set yourself aside even just once. You never know what someone else is going through until you ask! We can be the change! We can be a generation more caring towards our neighbor. Even if it just expressing a compliment to a stranger. This could be exactly what they needed to hear today to keep them from ending it all tonight. It has taken me several years to finally give people another chance. It is okay if you have a wall up. Some people can be really hurtful. They can push you so far away you feel better off keeping to yourself. But I can promise you there are some pretty amazing people out there. I ask you only to just give them a chance. Guard your heart but don't stay shut away forever. It takes some courage to put yourself out there again but God wants to walk right with you through it all.

These two girls maybe didn't know it at the time but were one of the biggest influences for me opening up to people again. They would plan fun thing like goat yoga, bowling, and girls nights dinners that really helped me learn to trust people again.

“So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

All this being said I want to open up myself to anyone in need. Maybe you know me maybe you don't. I would love to pray for you! God is an amazing God and I believe he can do miracles. I would love to give you words of encouragement towards whatever you are going through.

I also wanted to include this song I found recently. It is so relevant to this topic and what is going on in our world. I hope you enjoyed this reading and I can't wait to catch up with you Guys in the new year!
